Dr. Maria Muto is a physical therapist based in Manhattan who specializes in orthopedics and pediatrics. Maria received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Columbia University with a focus in Adult Orthopedics. With a strong passion and history of working with athletes, Maria currently works for the Sports Therapy Department at Columbia Doctors. Besides working within the athletic population, Maria works as a pediatric physical therapist that specializes in early intervention.  Maria's desire to work with various age groups, populations and cultures, drove her to join PTIS for the hopes of treating people of all backgrounds. Maria has already treated within Italy and Spain and hopes to reach more through the workings of PTIS. Maria also believes that physical health cannot be accomplished without a practice of mental health thus mindfulness is embedded within her treatments.

Social Media Committee

Our PTIS Social Media Team is the backbone of our family. These 5 amazing women, who are all aspiring physical therapists, deliver wonderful social media content for you to enjoy and learn from. They each have their own unique stories that are shared below:

Social Media Conductor

I'm Kaitlyn. I'm a second-year undergraduate Kinesiology major in pursuit of my Kinesiology Bachelor's, accompanied by an athletic training minor. I absolutely fall in love with becoming a DPT every single day as I love mobility exercises and I'm continually inspired by my super strong and resilient Father. I am one of PTIS's social media interns that participates in researching and creating IG posts. I chose to become a Social Media Intern for PTIS as I 1008% support our initiative to help the underserved communities of New York City. So excited to be apart of this team and help those who need it the most!

Social Media Ambassador

My name is Sarina. I currently live in Dallas, TX where I just graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Kinesiology. I decided I wanted to pursue Physical Therapy because I truly believe movement is medicine. I’ve always practiced a healthy and active lifestyle so I can’t wait to do the same for my future patients. I joined the PTIS family because they are doing something that hits very close to home for me. I am part of a underserved community myself and would love to do this in my own community one day. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to learn what I haven’t been introduced to! I am one of PTIS's social media interns that participates in researching and creating IG posts.

Social Media Artistic Director

Hello my name is Jashley Arguzon and I am a pre-physical therapy student. I graduated from CSULB 2018 with a BS in Kinesiology. I am interested in Physical Therapy because the field is constantly growing, learning, and educating. What I admire most about PTs they not only help patients rehabilitate their current injury but make them stronger than they were. With PTIS, more people will be aware and educated about physical therapy. I love how PTIS is not limited to the education but are going above and giving opportunities to those in need. I am one of PTIS's social media interns that participates in researching and creating IG posts.

Social Media Artistic Director

Hi everyone! My name is Shweta and I am a Monmouth University student. I am a third-year student studying Health Sciences. The reason why I chose PT is because it is a unique platform to impact other people and restore their quality of life. When I came across PTIS, I instantly knew that this was an organization that I definitely want to be a part of because of the service they provide. I genuinely want to dedicate my time, effort, and self to those in need, which is exactly the goal of PTIS. That is the reason why I chose to be a part of this selfless organization. I am one of PTIS's social media interns that participates in researching and creating IG posts.

Social Media Artistic Director

My name is Emily and I’m a third year student at Arizona State University and I’m studying Kinesiology. Over the years, I have had my fair share of PT visits as I have been a dancer since the age of three, and that’s how I found and fell in love with PT. I found PTIS through their Instagram account and saw that they were hosting free movement classes for under serviced communities and I loved the idea. I am one of PTIS's social media interns that participates in researching and creating IG posts.
